Learn how to use the MyChecks system for managing checks.

Sign in to MyChecks

Go to https://app.mychecks.co.nz

Type in your email address and password and select Sign in.

If you can’t remember your password you can use the Forgot your password option.

Reset password (forgot password)

When you first get your account details from us, we recommend resetting your password. Or you may have forgotten your password and need to reset it.

To do this, select the Forgot your password link on the sign in page. Then enter your email address.

Check your email inbox and copy the 6-digit verification code which was sent to you from MyChecks.

Paste the code into the Verification code field and select the Verify code button.

You will then be able to create a new password and use it from now on.

You can check the status of each pending check to monitor progress.

Once a check has been completed, you can view the check result detail.

Request a check

Start new check

To start a new check select the New check button on the dashboard.

Enter your candidate's details

Add your candidate’s full name and email address. This is the email address that we will use to send them a link to the candidate form.

Select the candidate role

This is usually the role that you are hiring for like an accountant. Or it could be a general type of role like finance.

Select the checks needed

The role will determine the checks which must be completed for this candidate. You can also select additional checks.

Review and send

Review the summary of checks and the terms and conditions. Once you are happy with those, select the Send invitation button.

Action needed for verification

Depending on your hiring policies, we may not be able to tell if a candidate is acceptable or not, based on their criminal conviction history results.

If this is the case, we will ask you to review the Ministry of Justice check results and decide for yourself.

Find the check

We’ll email you letting you know that action is required for the check.

The check will also be highlighted on your dashboard, ready for you to review.

Review the report & make selection

You can view the details of the Convictions History Report, and decide whether the candidate is ‘Acceptable’ or ‘Unacceptable’.

After you have done this, the Proof of Verification will be created, which collates the results of all of the checks you requested for this candidate.
